Artisan loves the grease and is not getting tired in beefing up cars. After producing a Camaro SS with a whopping 700 horsepower, they plan to come up with the 2010 Ford Mustang set to conquer the blacktop this month.

The DNA of the 700hp Mustang is based on the Mustang GT with a V8 engine that is coupled with GTK#50 turbochargers. Artisan will be working with Randall Reed Ford to make mutation of the Mustang to a power beast possible.

The tuned Mustang will be branded with the Reed Speed SE mark and will be marketed in some Ford dealerships and Reed stores across the country by mid this year.

Artisan was the team behind the IS-F that caught the attention of the crowd at SEMA. They plan to implement the concepts used on the Lexus for the Ford Mustang.

The 2010 Ford Mustang involved in the projects has the V8 4L engine variant that is capable of producing 315hp with a torque of 325lb-ft. The car uses the cold air induction technology used by Ford racing which allows it to have the power it needs on the road. The red line for the stock V8 is at 6500.

Reed and Artisan will be using a catalytic converter, wastegate, intercoder, and an upgrade to the ECU to make the performance of the turbochargers optimal. Buyers will have a choice to install 20 inch rims with 14 inch brakes. The Mustang will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Coinciding with the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, Steve Saleen who’s name has been equated to anything ‘Stang came up with a vision for the auto classic.

Saleen’s new firm the SMS Supercars recently released a concept sketch of the go fast Mustang. It was released during the Mustang anniversary party in Birmingham, Alabama. The versions of the Mustang will come as a 460 and a 460X.

To customize the new Mustang, the car designer gave special attention to the details of the diffusers, splitters, fascias, and the air induction system of the 2010 model. The sketches also emphasized on the architecture of the suspension and the brakes of the car.

The interiors of the Mustang will be pimped out too with leather and Alcantara. The panels will be finished with hand stitching.

The 460 version of the Mustang will boast of V8 4.6L engine that roars a whopping 470 horsepower and a 427 lb-ft torque. The powerful engine will be paired with an automatic or manual five speed transmission. I’d probably take it over the Ford Mustang GT500 too!

The 460X has an overwhelming 655 hp produced by a V8 5.0L engine with a 600 lb-ft torque. This go fast version is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission.

Both versions will use a 296 supercharger from SMS. The hyped up Mustang is capable of reaching 60 mph in about 4 seconds.

The SMS or Steve Mark Saleen Supercars has been building its own vehicle platform since 2000 derived from the passion and experience of Saleen as a race driver and designer. More Mustang news at Ford Car Talk.
